Me

I am available for commissions. If you like what you have seen here & would like me to do a portrait of yourself, your family - or who/whatever - please contact me at the following e-mail:
My prices are negotiable, depending on the amount of detail and how crowded the final piece will be. Examples of past works sold are $100 for portraits at about 14"x20" like Seth Daines or Zooey Deschanel and $250 for a poster size piece like Episode I.
Obviously, smaller or larger portrait prices will be different than these. Just let me know what you are interested in and we will go from there!
My story so far...
I am the middle of 5 kids - 2 older bothers, a younger sister & younger brother J.D. They are all a great support to me and my artistic endeavors. I was born in Santa Clara, California & have also lived in Colorado, Illinois & Utah. In 2003, I moved back out to California to attend Cogswell College where I spent a year. I now live back in Illinois.
I've been drawing as long as I can remember. But, oddly enough my Mom has told me when I was little, she couldn't get me draw at all. Funny how that changed. The first thing I remember drawing was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I then moved on to Disney stuff, due to the uber-cool Beauty & the Beast & Aladdin movies.
In high school I mainly focused on portraits of actors, etc. Capturing the look of someone, either famous or not is a fun challenge. My art teacher really helped and encouraged me in this direction. I owe him a great deal. The first two big productions I tried were Two-Face and Claire Danes.
I also did my fair share of comic book superheroes like Superman & Batman. I have since branched out and I am in the process of creating portraits or scenes from my own imagination. I have also dabbled in computer based art, mainly photo-manipulations and movie posters. I like to take a rumored idea or an actual movie that is in production and experiment, then compare mine to the actual poster that accompanies the movie's release. Also, I like to substitute actors/actresses into movies who were either up for the part initially or who I think is just a better choice. For example: Elisha Cuthbert as Mary Jane Watson or Elizabeth Banks as Sue Storm, for example.
As you will see as you look around on this site, I've drawn a lot of other things that aren't finished at this time. The curse of being an artist, right? Hopefully someday I will get them all done. The problem I have with being an artist is I am always getting more cool ideas to do. So, I start a lot, but hardly finish most projects.
I'm also branching out into special effects make-up/latex, etc. I am very much a novice at the moment, but hopefully I will be able to hone these skills as well.
